CPLUSK | Motion Graphics, Social Media, Sound Design
At CPLUSK (formerly Chong + Koster), I was tasked with taking on multiple clients from MSF-USA, MSF-CA, Breakthrough T1D (formerly JDRF), The Nature Conservancy, National Park Foundation, and more. I created video and digital media content that had to adapt to each clients’ needs and brand visuals in quick turnaround times. As a Senior Motion Designer, I opted to further the teams’ sound design skills by starting with the basics of editing all the way up to advanced dialogue recovery techniques.
Breakthrough T1D - Research Approach
This is an example of an OTV/CTV advertisement created for Breakthrough T1D. Typically, 30-second+ videos get around a week of turnaround time but this was much shorter and previously used projects were used as a template and footage was all stock.
Heifer T-Shirt Social Media Ad
While opportunities for me to use 3D are few and far between, occasionally there are places I can find use for it. This task originally was planned to have static, 2D images of the front and back of the t-shirt that simply swayed from side-to-side. But feeling it was a bit amateur-looking, I volunteered to stretch my 3D capabilities to create a rotating T-Shirt.
MSF - Crisis Updates
Often times projects require the deliverable in multiple aspect ratios as it has to conform to each airing platforms’ guidelines (and safezones!). Below is an example of a video from a series that had to be adapted for such a case:
The Nature Conservancy - Earth Day
In addition to multiple sizes, some projects required varying runtimes as well. In such cases, it was very helpful to rely on audio design skills to perfectly cut music and dialogue to length and consider pacing from both the visual and audio aspects.
AAPI Victory Alliance - Social Videos
In addition to healthcare, nonprofits, and NGOs, there were some political advocacy groups that asked for social media advertisements.
National Park Foundation - Brand Lift Videos
A larger project that had a series of 5 videos to improve brand recognition and awareness of The Nature Conservancy. I took on two of the video concepts and delegated the rest to team members. Even though all the footage is stock, it was important to keep in mind the actual locations must be national parks or monuments to follow the guidelines of the client.
